Meet our Pastors

Mazhar and Philippa (or Pip), have been in pastoral ministry for just over twenty-four years. Mazhar led a team that pioneered Pigeon Mt Baptist (now Eastgate Christian Centre) and after pastoring in Napier for three years, then led Northwest Baptist for over eight years, seeing the church grow significantly. They planted Shore Elim in their lounge in late 1999, commencing services in February 2000. Philippa leads the worship ministry and is a gifted florist running her own florist business 'Roseberry's Flowers'. Mazhar enjoys reading, coffee dates and time with Philippa and has recently taken up cooking, which Philippa is greatly appreciating and the family enjoy trying. They are the proud parents of four adult children, two beautiful granddaughters and one grandson.
